Phallo Surgeon

I start all of my research in the same place, transbucket. I scoured over what feels like hundreds of pictures of phalloplasty results from dozens of doctors. I wrote lists and dug deep to find patient testimonies and warnings. I finally narrowed it down to 3 surgeons.
I liked Dr. Curtis Crane's results. He does a seemingly great job, and his work shows that. I could not find a lot of bad reviews on him either! What turned me away was 2 things. One, I saw that he had some kind of court trial going on about malpractice. Two, when inquired about getting an appointment for a consultation, the receptionist informed me that the wait list was two years long. Wow. 2 years for a consultation? Then another year out for surgery? The guy must be good. However, I can't put my happiness on hold for that long.
I then found Dr. Devin O'Brien-Coon. He only had one result on transbucket that I could find at the time, but the results looked good. I couldn't find a ton of more information on him, other that he was helping head the new center for transgender health at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore. It seemed like a good fit for me; it was close to home, and I would be having surgery in a place dedicated to help people like me. However, not long after I began my research about DOC, the result from transbucket was removed but it's owner. I'm not sure why, but I put this surgeon on the back burner.
From there, I discovered Dr. Mang Chen. His results seemed pretty good! Not a lot of bad reviews or complications involving his patients. I contacted his San Francisco office and they sent me a lot of paperwork to fill out, which took a few days, but I promptly returned it to them. From there, they were able to schedule a consultation with Dr. Chen and Dr. Watt (the microsurgeon who works with Dr. Chen) about a month or so from then. Dr. Chen was also able to do a phone consultation, but I wanted to meet him and to insure that I would be a good candidate for RFF. Thankfully, he said I was.
After my consultation, I was able to schedule surgery about 2-3 weeks afterwards. My surgery date was another year into the future. I was so upset and frustrated. I thought I would be able to schedule it 6 months out from my consultation. That's what I was hearing from everyone online and even Dr. Chen himself. However that wasn't the case.
So I took my date for October 21st, 2019, and as I am trying to get things done and ready (which I also realized would be nearly impossible to do because of the high cost of living in San Francisco) for all the surgeries coming up, I started to see something on transbucket I didn't like...
The ridge on the head of the penis on almost all of the results I was looking at, had flattened. The penis started to stretch and thin out and lost it's glory that the surgical team had bestowed upon it. Around the same time I noticed this happening, someone posted pictures of DOC phalloplasty results on transbucket. This was/is, hands down, the best outcome/result I have ever seen. I went back to deciding between the two surgeons.
I ultimately decided on DOC from Johns Hopkins to perform my surgery. I think it is the best choice for me. It is closer to home (even though I live in Maine), and it will be cheaper to go to Baltimore three times for surgery than it will be to go to San Francisco once. Plus, if DOC can make my penis even look slightly similar to the results on transbucket, I will be happy.
